If you run the Steam client, you'd notice there is a new 27.2GB update for CS:GO. That's because CS:GO has been upgraded to CS 2.

For over two decades, Counter-Strike has offered an elite competitive experience, one shaped by millions of players from across the globe. And now the next chapter in the CS story is about to begin. This is Counter-Strike 2.

A free upgrade to CS:GO, Counter-Strike 2 marks the largest technical leap in Counter-Strike’s history. Built on the Source 2 engine, Counter-Strike 2 is modernized with realistic physically-based rendering, state of the art networking, and upgraded Community Workshop tools.

Interesting. There is one thing that annoys me, and it's that Valve can't count to 3. Why can't they make a 3rd game of any type?

I mean they made 1, then brought that to 1.6 - then we had source and global offensive, and now 2

makes total sense.

Have the system requirements changed too? That'd be a kick in the nuts to players on old systems, which I imagine is a good chunk of their playerbase.

I just played some deathmatch and one premier competitive game. And I'm shocked how awful it is.

The sound frequencies are all OFF and gave me ear pressure. Audio settings don' seem to change anything.

Maps all look the same with a graphic upgrade.

No noticeable netcode upgrade. UI is worse, you can't tell when you get damage.

Same old issues and suggested above me, free to play, free to hack, no anti-cheat upgrade.

Don't expect a new game, just CS:GO with some graphical upgrades.

They never said this is going to be a new game. It's the same as CSGO with just updated graphics and some new features.

I wonder if i can reverse to original CSGO if this is not going to work for me since my PC is old?

I am sorry to admit with all the hype I just spent twenty minutes looking for the Other New Counter strike 2 FFS.
It's downloading, I'll hopefully try it tomorrow.

Just played it it's definitely a fun game but it is still in beta hence lots of features are not present yet. Unfortunately i have an old PC so my fps is too low to enjoy playing this game. Guess i have to start thinking about new PC build.

Oh and the new Italy map is amazing.

CS2 doesn't feel any different than playing CSGO. I get the hype, but I probably played CSGO enough that I'll be skipping Counter Strike 2.

Just tried it. Normal match laggy and stuttering on Dust 2, unplayable. Practice mode fine.

I prefer/preferred CSS.

Is there a way to list all the servers and pick the one I want like CSS did?

CS 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 with 1.3 to 1.6 being major changes. We got CS Source and than CS: Go. Soo well past 3 games, but yeah never counted to 3 :)

Performance numbers finally!
