Since I've used Vent, I've only ever used two different servers (not a fan of Vent, prefer TS/Mumble), the server I currently use from time to time has had this issue since before my last format and still does. The server before that which I used way more often, did not.

The problem is, people will be talking, everything is fine, but then everyone will go quiet and I won't hear a thing - yet they're still talking. Then after around 5-10 minutes, Vent will replay everything they said within the 5-10 minute time frame all in the one hit (doesn't put any breaks between what they say, so if they say "hi", then "hello" 30 seconds later, it will sound "hi hello" without said 30 second break). Also does it when I'm not even logged into the server - closing Vent kills it.
This server has been doing this for ages, but I'm -apparently- the only one it happens to (not overly friendly with the owner/all but two of the people who use it; maybe an admin abusing feature somewhere I don't know about?), but it was doing it before my last format, and is now still doing it after a complete format. Doesn't happen with Mumble or TS3, or any VoIP(Steam/Ingame, etc).

Any ideas? Yes I'm aware this may just be a screwed setting or something, but I'm far from familiar with Vent so I wouldn't know where to look or what to look for.

Thanks.

So when it does it, everyone's speech indicator is red?

Also, does it sound exactly like they originally said something or does the delayed response sound robotic/computer driven?

I'm always ingame so I never know if their indicator is red or not. And it sounds like a direct recording.

Well, I'd watch the speech indicator to see who's mic is open when it happens. It sounds to me like someone is picking on you (it could take 30 minutes to record, stop, remove the junk in between, and splice it back together again, and play it back).

Maybe you could try to disable recording. Instructions are here:

Will do. Disabled for next time I join that server, whenever that'll be.

Cheers mate :toast:

EDIT: Well, it seemed to happen again, but this time I didn't stick around for the recording so I can't know for sure if it was the same thing. Meh, we're using TS3 now.
