Is there a way to apply vertex and pixel shaders 3.0 in a firmware upgrade? I have an ati radeon 9250 and the vertex shader version is 1.1 - the pixel shader version is 1.4

No, is not possible.

Thanks alot. Do you know what would be the best bios upgrade for this card?

you shouldnt be flashing your bios for no reason. besides, i dont think that ati offers bios upgrades liek that. just get a new card if you want better perfomance.

Sadly, PS and VS are not upgradeable. You can only replace the card...and with a 9250, that's not a very bad idea ;). If people could just upgrade video card shaders with a simple mod or BIOS flash, I don't think that the X1k series would have been so successful.

u dont go with the 1600 if u get a new card go with the x800 or x850 seares cards they will kill the 1600 or u could get a 7800gs

Thanks for the info to all. What do you guys recommend as the best pci card? I have an Intel motherboard with a P4 2.2ghz processor and 768mb of ram right now, no agp adapter. Everything runs great right now, but untill I upgrade I need pci :shadedshu
