i recently removed vista from my machine to put kubuntu 7.04 in its place i also had XP on a separate partition but for some reason when i select a windows partition its still using the vista bootloader instead of the XP one. how can i downgrade back to it? :banghead:

Can you get vista boot pro for Linux?

Thanks, I'll look into it

If you cant fix it with vista boot pro,try this

Boot your computer in to Windows XP.
Ensure you have the Vista DVD in your DVD drive.

Go to “Start” and “Run”. Type in e:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force ( replacing e: with the drive letter of your Vista DVD).

Restart the computer, and you will notice the boot selection menu is gone.

Format the drive where you had Vista installed.Remove two files (Boot.BAK & Bootsect.BAK) on your XP drive’s root folder C:, these were backup files of your previous bootloader, now no longer useful.

well my vista partition is formatted completely. its now an ext3 and swap partition.

but i'll give it a shot anyway
