OK, so I've finally managed to download the beta from MS, and eventually got it installed ok but I have quite a big problem. The Vista bootloader seems to be at a different resolution and my monitor can't seem to display it without the writing jumping unreadably across the screen. I have a cheap LCD and I expect that's the problem but it makes it difficult to boot to XP. So I'd be grateful if someone could either advise me how I could add Vista to the XP bootloader and boot from that or if there is some way I could sort out my monitor... I try the auto adjust and it doesn't work!

safe mode

try to get into safe mode, and see if you can change the res there.it also may be the drivers are not compatible with vista.

if you could post a pic, that might help

Thanks for the help - Vista is fine once I'm past the bootloader screen and I don't think you can change the reolution of the bootloader. The problem is I can't read the screen to chose between Vista and XP, and because I can't read the screen I wouldn't be able to boot to safe mode anyway  ! I think I'll just give Vista a miss for now and put Ubuntu back on that partition.
