it's seems my WD hdd passport turns off or spins down while transferring data and then turn on again after it although it's stays connected to windows and shows the drive in windows, it's only happen while transferring data, i tried seeing if it the sleep mode or power management power issue and turned them off from both windows and WD utilities and seems it wasn't, i played even with APM from Crystaldiskinfo and no solution yet also while watching videos that issue doesn't occur, should i be concerned?

i feel like the problem came from qbittorent while i was downloading files from it directly to hdd

I meant the case firmware, not the drive firmware.

Yes, the My Passport case

What cable are you using? Long cables from the big external drives wont work properly because the electricity has to fight the resistance of the cable itself which means your drive wont get the amount of power it needs to run. Use the original cable or one about 15-20cm long. They sell them on amazon if you dont have one.

::EDIT::

For instance this if you want USB C:

You can also get a 'Y' cable that uses one USB for extra power.

it's not that long, came with the HDD itself i even changed the cable and it isn't that long either

Tried another USB port?

I had forgotten, these are not SATA drives with a converter, but rather USB directly on the hard drive board.

i feel like qbittorent did something to my hdd, not sure tbh
that is just not the case.

this is the support page for the drive in question. supporting software can be had here.

Be sure to disable usb selective suspend in power settings.

powered hub or y cable with power is not a bad idea.

It is a 4800 rpm drive.....not being reported incorrectly. Call up WD and ask them. I've seen tons of them and had this question brought to me before.

They make absolutely no guarantees regarding anything about the internal disk besides that it is a WD manufactured drive. It is there in the fine print.

the torrent software did not alter your hard drive.

I will try powered hub

You are plugging both USB plugs in, right? One is for data and power. The other is for more power.

Edit: and plug both into PC directly, not a hub. If you plug it into a hub, make sure it is powered with enough power.

both usb ports in my laptop are plugged in with Usb hard drives one for seagate and the other one for WD HDD, is it wrong to plug them both in same time?

I don't know what you are trying to say.

The cord that came with your WD passport drive has one plug into the passport enclosure and then 2 plugs on the other end, right? If so, both of those plugs need to be plugged into your computer.

If the other external hard drive keeps you from plugging both of these plugs in, then you cannot use the other external hard drive at the same time due to lack of enough USB ports.

If the wd mypassport cord that came with it only has one USB plug, nevermind.

Can you give us a link or picture or something?

Oh, nevermind. I guess I am used to the older ones with 2.

Try with just the WD and see if the problem persists.

I hated that connector so much, I made sure to get a case with a C connector

I'm trying it right now, also there is something that i didn't mention, is that even the transferring speed seems slow
this is from ssd to WD HDD, it's going between 50 to 70 mbs

This level of performance is within acceptable parameters, especially if there is any form of data fragmentation. It's a 4800 RPM SMR laptop drive with a small cache that was modified with a USB bridge chip, it's not exactly a speed demon. If you need a solid USB solution, you should get a proper desktop hard drive (WD Black, Gold, Red series are good for this use case) and use an enclosure with a reliable USB bridge controller, like a JMicron JMS578 or JMS579.

I have a WD Red Plus CMR drive on mine, handles itself well even 90% full:
