iv got this drive lying after my other system died. Is it any good to use it for OS purposes? comparing it with WD 1tb/sataII/64mb/7200rpm. The only thing that clicks here is the rotation speed it has. Exclude the SSD from this thread ;)
 
Access times will be better on the raptor, read/writes will be somewhat slower but not by a huge margin, would make an ok OS drive, I just find them too noisy for my needs.
