WD SN570 2TB - SLC Cache size?

I'm thinking to buy 2tb model but looking at 1tb (the one reviewed everywhere) it seems like 1tb has got a very small SLC cache of around 12-14gb. Was wondering if 2tb would solve this issue eventually by having a larger cache? I cant find any info about that unfortunately.

Hello, it does have a bigger Static pSLC Cache as you can see here in my database that will be publish eventually hahah

I am taking about SN570 not SN750 ;)
Oh true, i swear i read SN750, but yeah it's still static so it won't be bigger than the SN750 2TB

The SLC cache is still static for the 2TB SKU, so I agree with Gabriel, won't be bigger than that.

It probably doesn't have that capacity, the larger the drive capacity and the larger the SLC cache capacity. Usually static SLC cache isn’t bigger than 35-40GB.

Didn't those drives perform extremely well even when full, regardless of the low cache and lack of DRAM?

TPU's review shows its 12GB, writes drop to 550MB/s once thats full. I'd assume that the 2TB model doubles that to 24GB.

If sustained writes is what matters to you, the grap at the bottom of that link will list the fastest drives for that.

Yeah, they tend to be better than drives with dynamic SLC cache as performance.

Exactly because it's a small static, as soon as you are filling up the drive, the controller usually doesn't have to fold back these cells in the SLC region back to TLC/QLC and in not doing it, it doesn't generate an overhead that causes performance to drop.
But some Static Caches, specially bigger ones can cause the SSD to be in the folding states as well, It's not very common though, since as mentioned, static slc caches tends to be pretty small

This is what I received from WD support. I wonder if they've got a clue So 1TB has got 12gb and they claim that 2TB has got 8GB. Yeah, makes sense.

Thank you for contacting Western Digital Customer Service and Support. My name is Selena Y am one of the level 2 technician.

I really appreciate your patience.
This email is in reference to inform you that in order to fetch the information about the SLC cache size, We had forwarded your case.
Therefore, As per the response ,The WD Blue SN570 2TB has a Static SLC Cache size of 8GB.

If you have any further questions, please reply to this email and we will be happy to assist you further.
