wharfedales are floor standing 80cm high which means thell need to sit on the side of the desk angled in, and the microlab are 56cm so they "can" (will be) set on the desk

the microlab are newer speakers but im going to assume the wharfedales are a higher level brand with better qc?

both are selling for similar sums used.

cons. im worried about the valdus speakers having deteriorated surrounds on the woofers as they are around 20 years old. and for the microlab I will need to invest in a dac for the pc that can do 2.1 out without an amp. I also have an active 12" sub that must be connected too.

YT, some movies, some YT, a little bit of music. screen is 27" desk is sizeable

Microlab is kinda questionable. I've read some reviews, and it suffers from most issues that their cheaper speakers suffer from: it's fine in a narrow range of volume, but suffers distortions on low or if higher than 40%. Also people complain about bass levels(which is a matter of taste tbh, but still...). Basically the exact same crap that I have on my cheap B77.

thanks for the reply! very much appreciated

but suffers distortions on low or if higher than 40%.

do you mean low in volume or low bass frequency? you can understand im no audiophile. right now I use 2 sats on the desk each having tweeter and a 3" cone and a 12" active sub on the floor. theres a huge gap missing between the 3" driver and the 12" drivers with frequencies. as well I also cant play things so loud as I consider my neighbors near me. will the solo 6 7 or 9c speakers not work with lower volumes?

in all videos shown on YT the microlab show very nice audio som inm surprised with what you mention. there is a pair of solo 6c 7c or 9c for sale used. the price difference between the solo6 and solo9 is very little. the 9c on the desk are 60cm (aprx 24") so the tweeter will be just abit over my head which means the bass/midbass will be prominent. but I am missing proper midrange/midbass with my sats. the 3" drivers dont deliver fuller sound. they sound weak. they are the bottleneck in the system.

I think the wharefedale will be way too much with dual 8" drivers. at least the solo9 are 2 6.5"
microlab have a solo 7c I believe that have a 6.5/5/tweeter for midbass/mid/high and that would be perfect but I cant find them used. one came out and sold within days.

so no go on solo 6/8 or 9? im never blasting volume where you can see the drivers shake either. thanks again for your insight!
