What is the best cpu for high end encoding
Price should be under $400

i7 7700k take 1 hour to Encode 45minit video.

So tell me better then i7 7700k. I don't want to play games cause i sell games. so I'm not interesting in games, I just want best processor for encoding. And multitasking. Anyone know?

The more cores the better. One of the Ryzen 7s definitely at this point. Although waiting for the second generation ones coming out in about a month is probably a good idea.

AMD Threadripper 1950x or Intel I9 series ought to do it...
Anandtech did actually do a great review on encoding...

Generally more cores is better , but you would want to stop before you start getting diminishing returns and that is around a Threadripper 1950X or an i9 7900X.

For 400$ a 8700K or whatever 8 core AMD comes out with this spring.
