If done well minis are cool to mess around with for a week. Then you go back to emulators.

Best thing is ODE lately. Optical drive emulators. You replace the cdrom drive with an sd card reader and boots to a menu load games that way. I have one for dreamcast and saturn. Cant beat Real hardware

Fav' console, my hearts says the NES, but he should says Genesis / Megadrive or SNES it's the age of gaming I plays the more often.
Mini console, almost got them all, and love all of them (the PSX one ... well the 3D games are "raws" and better play them on emulator, the 2D games are OK)
Ad the C64 ... hmmmm ... i'm not into old computers enough to enjoy it i think :/

Sadly I've never owned any console/well my family did not when I was growing up as a kid. 'tbh it wasn't really common around here back then'
We only had some Nintendo copy/knock off with cheap 'non legal' games sold for it. 'like in my entire elementary school class only 1 kid had a PS1'

Hard for me to pin it down but I do like a PS3 along with my old SNES - PS1 and 2 are also faves of mine too and you can bet I've got a few good games for all of them.
To me it's the games that makes the console good, not just the console itself but also, things like the controller of a console can make or break it for me.

As an example, even though I do have a Dreamcast, the controller seems "Weird"/bulky in my hands and it's unfortunate in my case - I could get used to it I believe but there is still something about it that gets uncomfortable after awhile and I just have to put it down.
Speaking of the controller I do have 2 VMU's for it and got those when I bought the console from a local gameshop (Mod shop) years ago (1998) for the total sum of $80.... That's console, the controller AND VMU's all together when I got it.
Still works fine to this day.

I also have (Actually it's the wife's but she never really played it) an original Xbox that works fine but again, the controller for it isn't as comfortable (To me) as others like what's made for a Sony based console - It's not that far off from a Sony's but still different so I'd have to say the Sony controller is the best to me personally.

ATM my PS3 is being used because I can use it with my monitor and so on making it VERY convenient for me and yes, it's the monitor I'm using now to post this.
I just kick back, turn it on, turn on my old PC speaker system and it's gametime with things like Gran Turismo 5 for example.
For my older stuff (Consoles) I have my old 27' CRT TV setup right next to where I am now, making this room "My Space" for whatever.

The PS2 was pure kino, and peak gaming. The SNES has such a rich library though, and the xbox 360 while unreliable did give us halo 3 and MW1/2/Bops. And battlefield bad company 2.

My personal favorite was the plucky gamecube. so many good games that never left the platform.

The SNES is good, it's controller is comfortable to hold and use, not that complicated either with all the controls in a good spot for your use.
Even the old NES isn't that bad, just not as good as the SNES but still more than just manageable.

The original Xbox console controller is a little off from others but not that bad either, at least the controls of the stock controller are in a good place to use.
The Dreamcast has them as described, weird and kinda odd to use but I'd have to say if you can get used to it, it's probrably OK in the end - I just can't get used to it myself but that's a personal thing.

Grew up with a Mega Drive, so it'll always be dear to me. Also, I still think that to this day its 6-button pad is one of the best ever.
What revolutionized gaming for me, though, is the N64 (and my family still has it). It'll be hard to top it as my fav all time.

For me the SNES killed the Arcade. The PS was OMG and the PS2 was everything it was supposed to be. Dreamcast gets an honourable mention for Record of Lodoss War and Test Drive Le Mans.

I pretty much grew up on the PS2 and PS3, so those are my favorites. I'd say the PS3 is my all-time favorite.

Throughout my childhood, I loved playing Simpsons: Hit and Run and the Burnout series on the PS2.

When we got a PS3 in 2009, it was all Burnout Paradise and LittleBigPlanet.

Note he's talking about a clone of the SNES mini, not the actual SNES mini version.
I have an actual SNES-mini and it's fine. ;)

There are folks that have managed to load it with alot more games than it originally came with - I know the mini-NES version has been done to the point every NES game that's ever been released can be loaded into one of those and while I want to say it's the same with the SNES version, I'm not 100% sure that's the case.
Mine BTW has not been modified at all, just as it was out of the box to this day.

Back in the day I would've said the N64 or PS Vita but these days? I think I can comfortably say it's the Switch. The Switch has an awesome library of games, including some remasters and remakes of some of my favorites. It's also what finally got me into Dark Souls so it holds a bit of a special place there.

And while I don't touch the actual hardware these days I still emulate all of the games for the platform. Having it be so easy to emulate is also a huge plus.
