What program you use to convert to YouTube?

I used to upload videos in youtube long time ago and now I havent visit youtube lately. I also forgot what program I use to convert the videos with but all I remmeber is that it make my video more color and more darker which I dont like.

Now im planning to visit youtube once again... since I cant find the program I used.... I will use another one and also I want something that dont make my video more color or darker. I want a something that convert it by not changing the quality.

What program do you use to convert videos to upload in youtube? and can you reccomend any?

I wasted time downloading several "video to flash converters" and all of them have low quality and huge file size.... 30sec video with 400mb! but guess what???? I was blind all this time! I thought YouTube only accept SWF and FLV file cause I tried to straight up upload without converting and it wont let me.

So somehow I try converting it to MPEG file and it works! and smaller file size! high quality and just 2mb for a 30 sec video! but.... still have problem... the quality is good and all but it has this color lines... red lines... going across the screen.

look here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=JbdVhtItjRU

What cause it? and how to get rid of it?

btw I use fraps to capture a game videos I play and I think the file it capture is not the file compatible with youtube that's why I cant straight up upload it.

cyberlink powerdirector? I may check that out.

update
can someone tell me which is better image quality?

small http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQ_TY4o8DJ4

or

original resolution http://youtube.com/watch?v=wq47CbkX8SU

as I read the youtube tip it says 320x240 is good but I thought higher resolution the better?
