What should I set my AGP speed at?

I have an x800 pro flashed to 16 pipes
ASUS P4C800 DLX Mobo
512 Ram right now.

I noticed I can set the AGP speed in my advanced catalyst settings. What should I set it at? It's at the far left right now, and if I put it up to 8x the fastwrite option turns on.

Should I leave it at the left, or put it up to 8x? Thanks.

Use it at 8x

What about fastwrite then? I'm doing this through the smartgear utility tab...should I be doing it thoruhg the bios or something?

these should all be on unless you have problems.

Hmm...I put it up to 8x, clicked apply, clicked yes to restart the computer. The computer booted like nothing ever happened, and it just was back at off...ah well.

well then it just means you don't get fastwrite with your card, no biggie

having 8x is better than 4x + fastwrite

NO, I mean not just fastwrite was off, but the agp speed got set back down to off.

Try to install the AGP drivers for your motherboard again, and you should be able to keep the bus speed at 8x

Oooh mobo drivers...I don't think I ever really installed any specific ones other then the onboard stuff. I'll try that.

lol, i had that exact problem and it took me about 2 days to figure it out... then i thought about AGP drivers, and that fixed the problem :P

Where can I get AGP drivers at? I searched the Asus website, flashed my mobo BIOS to the newest one, and looked around but didn't find any AGP drivers :S

It's a p4c800 DLX btw.

You need to get Intel INF chipset drivers as I believe you have 875P chipset

Thanks it worked...and it defaulted to 8x w/ fastwrite on.
