Software Windows Server 2003 R2 as a Workstation now migrated to W10 with regrets.
How long is a piece of string?

I suggest you start with a very simple, small, server, sitting at home or on a cheap (shared) hosting service. Possibly a recycled P3 or something simple if at home. Remember you DONT need a lot of CPU power to process data at your internet connection speed.

If your website is very successful, you can LATER migrate to a dedicated hosting service. But no need for that now.
