Hello
I would like to ask should i use the home basic 32bit "that i have original key"
or should i install windows 7 ultimate 64bit ? "im already using this one".But need to do a fresh
install.

Your system has 8 gig's of ram right? If so 64 bit to be able to use all 8 gigs. 32 only allows for under 4.

What would you do with an Ultimate anyway? For regular home use, it has exactly zero benefits.

As for the key, most of them work on both 32- and 64-bit editions of the same channel. So you could try using W7HB 64-bit if you have 4+ gigs of RAM.

For a power user pro-enterprise

If he bought the OEM version of Home Basic, it only has one key, I believe, whereas Retail had key good for both 32 bit and 64 bit. Or am I confusing that with 8?

OEM keys are 32bit or 64bit specific as far as I know

Yep, if it an OEM its only 32 bit. Go with Windows 7 home premium or Pro. You can buy a OEM for it but you need 64 bit for 8Gb ram

Pro or Ultimate 64b...

And if that's a 2GB Graphics card he is down to under 2GB Ram useable I believe.

Well what OS should i pick then ? Im using mostly to watch movies and alot of gamming stuf.

Without hesitation, put the 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate in there, simply because it is 64 bit, and you already own it. It's more than you need, but the 64 bit is essential.

O he already has Ultimate 64? Well then okay

That's how I interpreted him saying "I'm already using this one." Of course assuming has always gotten me in trouble....so who knows?

I had to read it again. Its not clear but it seams if he's asking to use the original OEM 32 bit or Ultimate 64 bit. Then with 8 Gb ram its a no brainer

Use the legal one or buy a 64 bit one, we don't condone pirating here.... thread closed.
