Which is best, from your experience:

Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro

Or

Zalman 9700?

Cheers!

AC Pro by FAR.

But there are better ones.

why not get something better like a xigmatek rifle 120mm or a thermalright ultra 120?

Xigmatek is what I was going to say, forgot the name.

im not getting the xigmatek because it stands too tall for my case side.

ifx-14 :D

of those 2 its close tbh

f7p gets my vote tho for its price/performance, the zalman looks miles better tho....

They make more than one, and most of them are superior to the AC Pro.
But the AC Pro is perfectly fine if you know that will fit for sure :)

loads out perform the acpro now, ocz vendeta 2 is one you should look at if size is an issue.

I would get xigmatek it's the best bang for the buck. How much does it run in the UK. In the states it runs around $40 with shipping:)

i have a 9700 and it does wonders, that's not to say there isn't something better out there though.

Ya they are very good by all means, my bro has one on a P4 3.0 and it never crosses 70c, in a case with absolutely no air flow.

AC Pro is a good cooler. I have one and it cools very well. But i can't tell you much about the Zalman 9700 but Zalman does also have some of the best coolers around. AC does have some darn good thermal paste to.:)

agreed - plus the 9700 is like ÂŁ40, the freezer pro like ÂŁ15 - ima order the freezer pro i reckon. i was running orthos last night and had load temps of 70 degrees, i wasnt best impressed.

Give you an idea on the AC Pro,my processor @ 1.5 volts does not cross 51c even after 20+ hours on orthos.

fantastic - and at that price i am impressed. The decision is final! ordering one monday! :toast:

Might i ask what idle temps are?

I got around 47c full load at 1.325 no overclock. That's the reason why i got another cooler. But every chips is different, you might actually be able running it cooler than niko's chip with the AC

hopefully . . . then i need to find out how to raise my voltages seeing as my mobo only allows 1.35V and i can only go to 1.39 using a program :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I ordered a AC Pro on friday..it's here in town already sitting @ the UPS place..getting it on monday!

*hate to double post, but*

currently im at 46 degrees on idle =O and people get 50 degrees on load with a freezer?!?

should be an investment in itself :D

Well I also have a Core2 but they are pretty good either way... The thermal paste that comes on them I believe is MX or w/e its pretty good too.

I idle pretty much room temperature.

yeah, i read the paste was spot on and didnt need replacing . . . room temp at idle? brilliant. getting rather excited now haha :D

take it you missed delivery? done that a few times myself, is an annoyance!

do me a favour, post us some thermal results / pictures once it arrives? that would be good, just before i purchase mine.

* 5 stars now :D *

250th post :D

im not getting the xigmatek because it stands too tall for my case side.

My Xig 1283 fits just fine in my Antec 900...the clearance looks closer than it really is...granted your CPU location may differ a little from my P35/Intel setup, I wouldn't think it'd be low enough to contact one of the "ears" for the side panel fan bracket mount.

My vote, in the Best-Bang-for-the-Budget, AC Freezer 7 Pro. Great cooler, I still have one cooling my G/F's OC'd C2D e6300 (@3.5GHz). Easy to install, overall it just works damn well...yes there are better, but in this products' price range (I purchased for around $26 over a year ago), you won't find better IMO (unless there's a really good sale...read on).

That's where my Xig comes in, I got it for $26.99 from a Newegg sale a couple months ago...been happy ever since. It does a better job in comparison to the AC, but in reality the difference I noticed wasn't more that 5C...which is still pretty damn good if you think about it. But in my results, that was the largest difference I noticed and that was under LOAD conditions, which should matter most anyways. This cooler, even at around $40 is still a good deal and cooler for the price range. I highly recommend it!
