Which board should I get?

Since selling my cards I might have some extra cash and tomorrow I have to change my girlfriends Alternator out in 10 degree F temps she said she will get me a new board. I am debating if I should get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130138 and just keep using my 6000+ or if I should get a X38 board and what til April when I can afford a new Penryn. Im very nervous just sitting on a board since defects can occur right out of the box but what would y'all suggest?

Getting a Q6600 would be a great decision. However, I would not get that board. Don't get me wrong. I love DFI, but that is an old chipset, and quite a bit slower than the p35 or X38 chipsets. Do you need crossfire support? If so, I'd go with a good 680i board. If you only need support for one graphics card, get a Gigabyte p35 DS3R board, or even a DFI p35 "Blood Iron".

I do want to have crossfire support on the board because I know sometime soon I will get another card. I did read some reviews on the DFI board and not so good but that MSI 790X board I listed first seems to be a decent board. I did some checking on 3 X38 boards by Abit, Asus, and Gigabyte. I'm not a Asus fan due to past experience with them and Abit I'm not to sure of since it is basically a different company now than when they made the awesome NF7-S, and gigabyte I've never used.
