I'm trying to decide which memory kit 2x4gb to buy for my laptop, there are a few brands, the one I plan using is ddr3 1600 2x4gb latency of 11? that's the fastest I've found, right now is using 4gb and 2 gb total of 6 with 2 different brands. I want to see if I get extra performance by upgrading to 8gb the limit I've heard on this laptop. I am going to upgrade the firmware which ever way I can to support the memory and new thermal policy. Brands such as Hynix, elpida, crucial/micron show up on ebay.

Well, the max speed that the memory controller on that laptop supports is 1333, so putting 1600MHz ram in it won't help any because it is still going to run at 1333MHz.

If you already have a 4GB stick, just pick up another 4GB stick that matches or is close to matching.

Crucial recommends 1600 for mine. Are they wrong? or maybe4 they know something we don't know that the bios was updated and now supports higher clock?

It has nothing to do with the BIOS, the hardware itself can't support faster. Crucial recommends 1600 because they want to sell you more expensive memory. Yeah, 1600 will probably work, but it will still run at 1333, so don't bother wasting the money on faster memory.

can I get the ddr3l that's 1.35v and 1.5 dual voltage. Will that be better? what if one ram is 1.5 the other 1.35?
Asus told me I can only upgrade it to 6gb. crucial says 8gb and 1600. Guy over the phone said 1333mhz and 6gb and also told me I can't upgrade the wireless card inside the mobo. What things can I do from your experience?

1) K53SD can go up to 8GB no problem (tested on my co-workers machine)
2) K53SD officially only supports DDR3. Low-voltage DDR3L will not work most likely.
3) 2nd gen Core supports at most DDR3-1333, so if you can dig around for some cheap used memory, that'll be your best bet. Just one 4GB stick to replace that 2GB. No need to spend money on the entire 2x4GB kit.

The guy at ASUS is a retard. K53SD is fully upgradeable (later models are a whole 'nother story).
Regarding DDR3-1600: in most cases it will work. I've only seen few issues on 1st gen Core laptops and newer 1600MHz sticks. 2nd gen is fine.

How much RAM have you got in it atm? you might see more of a "performance improvement" dropping in an SSD as laptop HDD's are notoriously slow especially on older models like this, so unless you're actually hitting your RAM limit and experiencing slow downs due to paging etc you won't see a "noticeable" improvement just adding more RAM, whereas with an SSD you will notice a difference straight away in most things.

The GPU is probably holding you back way more than the amount of memory in the computer.

That'll be rough... Minimum requirements GTX660 2GB (that's for 720p).
