Now im at a loss here, the AXP was sold, though the 478 works again. it boils down to which overall will offer me the more enjoyable experince.

Celeron 330 2.66ghz/6800

AMD AThlon64 3500/8400GS

the athlon will be faster in cpu, but the celeron would probably play games better. you could probably sell the celeron system and get enough for a cheap x1900 or 7900gt which would wallop that gs

depends what you are wanting to do with your computer, personally i would go with the Celeron 330 2.66ghz and Geforce 6800, but if you need more processing power obviously go with the AMD Athlon64 3500 and Geforce 8400GS.

3500+ is 2.3ghz? I'd pick that setup... unless that celeron has HT enabled. I don't remember if they even had the option though...

well the celeron system is fully built, need a hard drive and DVD-Drive, it has a CD-RW in it right now, and everything else there, and i have an extra 512mb of DDR400 i can toss in it. What would it be worth though?

the 3500 is 2.2ghz

Its for WoW/CSS/Combat Arms

just thinking the local shop has a 7950GT used for 80 bucks, maybe they'd trade me, not sure.

The celly clocks to 3.4 on the board its one, does that make a diff? In reviews ive seen 3.8 is needed to match a P4 3.0

Eh... it's not gonna be anything exciting, but either of them should run those games without a problem. Just for the sake of being current, I'd go with the 8400GS. Drivers will update longer than the 6800. I know what that feels like as I just got rid of my 9600pro back in march. lol. New drivers were still being written that effected it's performance.

Athlon with 8600.

no, the celerons didn't have HT  lol
Ah, I figgered that much. I've got a 3ghz p4 HT sitting on my dresser. Buddy of mine brought it over for some reason or another and never took it back.

Very odd fellow he is.:wtf:

i had a P4 3.0 HT, this board doesnt support it. Shop traded me for 512mb DDR and the Celly
