Just curious what people mostly use these days. Post if none of the options fit. Maybe post why you use this term aswell.

I used Terminate 5.0 in the past, but now PuTTY, and SyncTERM is also nice.

Tilix. If I’m on windows or Mac I install hyper

I'm a simple man so xterm on *NIX, KiTTY (a fork of PuTTY) on Windows, Android Terminal Emulator on, you guessed it, spywareOS.

I use the default terminal emulator, except for KDE's Konsole. Something about there being a "K" instead of a "C" makes me irrationally angry and I have no idea why. I lost all motivation to continue testing Nobara KDE seeing console spelled that way. If it was KConsole, similar to the other default apps, it woundn't bother me.

It even matches my feelings towards English spelling. We have K for the "Cat, Kick" sound. We have S for the "Sand, Celebrate" sound. We only need C for the "Chew, Chalk" sound. But still, seeing it spelled as "Konsole" makes me mad.

Heh, unlike the above, I like Konsole!

QTerminal, urxvt, mate-terminal and Konsole are, in my experience, the four terminals that work best.

I frequently use urxvt.

Despite being just the default of KDE, Konsole is actually quite a feature complete, compatible terminal.
That is, there's a lot of weird and obscure commands in the bytestream of VT. Things like for example sixel. xterm is pretty good at compatibility, but xterm is not pleasant. Konsole happens to be quite compatible while also having decent customization and features.

kitty. But if all depends.

if I am using Plasma, then konsole.

/usr/bin/mate-terminal

/sbin/agetty tty1 linux

My motivation was to have a terminal with less bloat, less dependencies.

xfce4-terminal on my desktop, iterm on my mac, termux on my phone.

Been mostly using xterm over the years, but have tried numerous ones over time.
I prefer kitty these days.
