I'm going to say because it.is having to work harder to maintain the same picture quality at the higher refresh rate.

it only goes from 60 hz to 75 thats a huge increase core clock, memory clock, power consumption/tdp and vddc only for 15hz increase

Anything different going on on-screen between the two?

just when i change hz to 75 power consumption, core, memory speed goes up beyond what is normal desktop speed, which is the last 60hz picture

Base Clocks and power consumption on Single Display are less than for Duel or greater display's
Running duel Displays and increasing refresh rates on displays uses more power and higher GPU Clock Rates

The speed and power consumption is the same with 1 monitor as well as 2 monitors, my speed is the same now (dell 60hz acer 100hz) as in the techpowerup review http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Gigabyte/GTX_980_Ti_G1_Gaming/34.html only thing i do is to change my dell monitor to 75hz instead of 60hz and core ,memory clock, tdp, vddc goes way beyond what is normal

I think it's mainly due to the power states. Once the requirement goes beyond a certain point, the GPU will turn to the next power state which might be too much for the task at hand. My old 7750 used to go to 3d clocks for bluray playback on my second monitor which is too much for the task but the GPU doesn't have any other power state between both so it goes to the 3d clocks preset.

Not shure what my asus gtx 980 strix did, since i never noticed any difference, i can't test it, i sent i to the buyer of my card yesterday

:confused:o_O

If my asus gtx 980 ti did it i don't know i never noticed any problem(didn't test if it did, why would i if i never noticed that kind of problem as i have now)

well i just switched off my secondary display and Gpu core went from 500Mhz to 300Mhz

Then i switched it back on and it jumped from 300Mhz back to 500Mhz

R9 280x ( its always run at a higher clock for duel Displays as have all the AMD Cards i have had running Duel and triple displays).

have 2 monitors running and speed according to gpu-z is desktop/multi monitor speed as in the techpowerup review (the desktop and multimonitor speed is according to techpowerup the same) i guees the speed can't go lower then 135mhz on the gpu core and 203 mhz on the memory clock

If i only do one thing, set my dell monitor to 75 hz my gpu gets hotter and use more power, speed, memory and it's a big difference

your GPU gets hotter because its doing more work

your GPU gets hotter because its doing more work

No stock core speed and memory, tdp vddc as soon as i change to 75hz on my 2'nd monitor i get much more speed, tdp, vddc on my gpu, my cpu is idle mabye 0-1% usage

Guess it's a bug mabye related to the 980 ti, can't seem to find a bios for my gpu

When you activate 75hz the GPU can't handle it with the the lower clocks. The next step up is 3D clocks. Even idling at higher voltages and clocks will increase power that much

okay, just don't have any clue what my asus gtx 980 did in the same situation

There is nothing.wrong with your card. Youve been given the answer. It's not complex. What more do you want? Not all answers are compex

And its not a problem with this card

if you want a lay answer
your pick up truck as your graphics card and display
add a trailer (second display ) truck works harder pulling extra load uses more fuel
chuck in a few bags of cement into bed of truck or trailer and the load the engine has to pull is that much more
so you need more power

If you cannot relate to that fine
anyway I have Answered your question and now out of here
