Why Doesn't AMD Offer Long-Term GPU Availability Like Nvidia?

We have used the AMD Radeon PRO W6800 in our product, which we loved. But then after just 3 years it became unavailable, we were first planning to switch to the W7700. Since AMD doesn't offer a long-term availability program, we had to switch to the Nvidia RTX A4000, which is guaranteed until 2029.

Does anyone know how long the W7700 will be available? And why doesn’t AMD offer something like Nvidia’s embedded program for professional GPUs?

The only person that can give you this specific information is your AMD liaison or authorized supplier. Unlike their business processor lines (Ryzen Pro or EPYC), they do not explicitly offer guaranteed available-through dates disclosed on their product pages. If your application requires a stable platform with a hardware supply assurance contract, you will probably need to give AMD itself a call and inquire about it directly.

Good luck.

Hard to believe you to be honest. No real company would expect to use 5 year old hardware with only 16GB of VRAM, and none of them would create a profile here just to ask this one question.

God, can you guys like go fanboy somewhere else? This is a legitimate question about AMDs policy regarding availability. Your comments are completely inappropriate.

The answer is probably very obvious, they don't enough clients/money to justify this!
That could very well be. It's pretty well known that in enterprise sectors like this AMD is a minority player. If that changes so will the policy, most likely.

About as long as the 4070.

It seems simple. They don't sell enough of them, or they would support the pro cards longer.

Firepros (or whatever name and number they are this week) are available in basically every brand of workstation, but they don't seem to sell as well as quadros (and never have). From what i can gather by looking at the available info, It is their lowest performing market segment (they are killing it in the others). It's a perfectly fine product, but i don't sell many either.

I am red team all the way, but that is why businesses do or don't do things. They sell or they don't

AMD *used to* offer an Embedded Radeon productline. IIRC, they had extended availibility like AMD Embedded Ryzen.

Also, I believe AMD has offered 'extended availibility' on product SKUs specially developed for companies, and for most of what they've marketed as "Industrial", over the years.

Why AMD fanboys make big fuss about Nvidia removing 32bit Physx but downplaying this shady practice?
