I am currently using the graphics card GTX 650 but I want to upgrade it to GTX 760. I got an ASUS GTX 760 from Amazon and I installed the new card with no trouble, but if I turn the power on I could only see the hp loading screen and it just freezes there, I then hear three beeps with long pauses followed by three rapids beeps before the monitor goes blank. I tried to find what the beep codes means but I couldn't find information about this combination. People also told me to update my bios and I did, but the problem remains the same. Can anyone please help me identify where the problem is? Thank you.

Did you make sure to connect the additional power to the card?

I did, and the green light on the card is on (although I am not sure if that indicates whether there is enough power supplied to the card), pardon me as I am very new to hardware assembling, so sometimes I might not be able understand your terminologies .

Could be a dead card, can you try it in another computer to see if it works?

Also make sure you've didn't unplug anything out of the motherboard and check the other components to see if they are seated properly into the motherboard.

It could be, I got it from Amazon, but I don't want to jump to conclusion just yet since this card has got good ratings. I may give it a check tomorrow though. But before that, any other possibilities? For example I am interested to know what the beeping combination means.

Did you remember to uninstall the old drivers first? You need to do that everytime you put new hardware in unless its a 1:1 replacement

Did you touch your ram? Try taking it out and trying to boot the pc with only one stick.

I uninstalled the old driver but nothing changed

So the pc works with the old card but doesn't work with the new one? If you seriously could try the new card in another pc and it worked, we would know the card isn't dead, but so far, things point us in this direction.

Thank you. I will do that as soon as possible.

God some people shouldn't even talk if they have no clue drivers will no matter at all.

Sounds more like the card has a memory fault.

Not sure if this is the same issue, but when I installed my GTX 780ti in my Sandy Bridge 2600k system, I had to upgrade the BIOs of my motherboard for it to work. I was told to upgrade to Ivy Bridge BIOs by a Admin on the MSI forums.

If thats the case his GTX 760 may only have a UEFI bios which will not support older boards that only run legacy bios's, and it will depend if the manufacturer of his board has released a new bios to support VGA UEFI bios's.
