ok so lemme start off my saying i recently wiped my system and installed windows 10
and i noticed even more recently that i seem to have TWO documents folders...
i have one that has nothing that it should in it and the other somehow is linked to Onedrive...
the onedrive linked one has everything that the non onedrive should. (game saves, etc)
my question is...why? is this normal cause i can't imagine it is...
i don't think steam game save cloud will work with onedrive so i need to know, is this fixable WITHOUT another wipe? i have no idea how my onedrive got synced with my documents folder. i didn't set it up that way. any help is appreciated!
thanks!

I'm pretty sure one drive has been the default save point for documents since W8.1. You'll actually need to go into settings and change the default save location and unsync.

The way I have mine set up is one drive only syncs from my phone and feom a link I have on my server. On my main pc, i decide to deliberately place something in there. It's great for if i want to be able to access somrthing later on my phone, for instance.

since 8.1? that can't be...i was on 8.1 before this and it wasn't like this...

no. here i'll take a screenie of what i mean

the documents folder on my PHYSICAL HDD only has what i put in there as you can see
my onedrive documents has all my skyrim, fallout, etc. saves there
that has never happened before with me.
but here's actually a better question than my original...
well 2 actually but yeah
will this even be an issue?
and
will steam and everything save everything as per normal as if it were on my physical drive?

What you are seeing is fine and normal. Yes, STEAM will work fine, and should your HDD die, you'll have a back-up of your documents folder (Meaning all your stuff there in that screenshot with green arrows)that will be backed up online in OneDrive. Your data is "safe".

@TheMatt1984 yes, that was defaukt behavior on 8.1 once you activated OneDrive. It is the default save location unkess you change it.
