Hi

Using my new monitor Koorui GN10 I see in some videos these squares artifact in black areas but other videos I dont see them

I believe that what is shown here (in darker areas) is just color grading.
Cant tell if its the monitor or something else. It could be video quality (bitrate)

Is the monitor HDR certified? my monitor says it is HDR400 so barely but I get this on YT all the time during darker parts of videos, I have managed to alleviate it somewhat by changing the contrast and brightness settings in the display settings and custom colour profile in adrenalin

HDR 1000 but after I disabled HDR I dont see these artifacts

Try to change your brightness and contrast settings in AMD CP, lower brightness, higher contrast, best to do it while you have a YT video open so you can see how it is affected, this is the only solution I have found whilst experiencing the same thing, and it's annoying as hell when watching game reviews that look like a minecraft video in darker areas, also the issue isn't present for me when I don't use HDR

I am trying to adjust contrast in SDR mode to have clear text and good colors in movies and games but I can not get good result like my old benq IPS . I searched for color profile but I can not find one. I want to ask also which should be bigger than the other Contrast or Brightness ? anyone know a source for color profile ?

Thanks

If you are that picky about colors, and what you have tried isnt working, I doubt people hear have a magic trick to get you where you want. The lack of an ICC profile means you will likley need a colorimiter to do what you need from that monitor.

They look like MPEG "blocking" artifacts which you sometimes see in large areas of blue sky, in heavily compressed videos. Just like JPG, as you increase the level of MPEG compression, you reach a point where artifacts suddenly become huge. Did you see these artifacts on your old monitor? Do you what "bit depth" these videos are encoded at, e.g. 8-bit, 10-bit? At lower bit depths, blocking becomes more obvious at high compression rates.

Check your videos in MediaInfo, especially the video stream bit rate. The higher the speed in MB/s, the lower the number of visible artifacts that should be visible.
https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download/Windows

In the example below, the video stream is encoded with a relatively high quality bit rate of 35MB/s. When you drop down to a few MB/s at "normal" resolutions, you'll start to see annoying artifacts. H265 encodes videos to roughly half the file size of H264, whilst maintaining comparative image quality. Your videos might be encoded with the older MPEG-2 H262 standard.

I don't think changing colour profiles will have much/any effect, if the artifacts are due to heavy compression. Who knows?

it was from youtube video

You aren't the only one.

That's different, in OP case it's just extreme example of macroblocking.

Nm, now I see it, shooting video with potato didn't help.

Can I compare quantum dot with mini-led ? I tried quantum dot monitor once and I think the colors was better
