i understand there faster but for the price of them i could get 2 tb hdd's which id rather buy than ssd

i just wanna know what the hype about them is for people to spend that much money on one

An SSD will make Windows SUBSTANTIALLY faster for daily tasks. Not so much for gaming, load times will improve a bit, but that's about all that i have noticed.

It has sped up some Windows functions for me, but overall I don't know if it was worth it. I don't restart my computer often so I don't benefit from the quick startup. I also don't load many big programs that take a long time to load so it doesn't help much there.

On my laptop though, the SSD seems to be more beneficial.

What others said and because your name is digitalpimp

There nice have loadings much faster even more so if your like me and have 1/2 startup programs. Some games take advantage too which is more noticed by startup and map loading.

ok so just seems to be loading meh id rather get two 2tb hard drives than a ssd then at least till ssd's come down in price in a few years time

Well they have come down in price as i payed $430 for my 2 for 160GB.

I guess it depends on how much storage space you need i already had 6 250 WD drives which 4 of them i still use today and is enough space for me.

Get two 2tb HDD's. Why buy what you don't want?

I had two 1TB F1's. I'm an upgrade whore and thought, what next. I'm also a sound nazi and the noise of my hard drives crunching about was pissing me off. I changed to SSD for the sheer blissful peace and quiet. And it is nice when it shuts down in like 4 seconds.

But as erocker says, it sounds like you dont fully want one, so def dont buy one. Give your change to charity ;)

yea i will and yea i like to download alot of stuff mainly anime :) filled up my 500gb somewhat quickly with it and steam games aswell funny how fast you can fill these things so hopefully 2 tb drives should last me a good long while

only problem im scared of using the 3gig on my p67 mobo as ive heard 1 in 500 i think i was told could degrade over time so the 6 gigs dont leave me alot of choice on how many things i can have

Yeah get the 2 tb HDDs and put em in RAID0 so you still get the Storage and some of the speed

I'd suggest 2 of these Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 R...

and RAID0 is putting 2 or more drives together to run as one...each drive gets half the info so you get increased speed....those drives I linked to get about 110mb/s average read and write together in RAID0 they will get about 200mb/s average read/write and they are SATA3 so you you wont have to worry about the chip degrading as it only effects the SATA2 controller

ok ill look them up unfortanutly i live in the uk sites i order from are eaiher overclockers or ebuyer dam 20% vat increase bleh everyything electronic is dear as hell

in the US a good cheap 64GB SSD is 99$, and the new Sandforce is coming so they will be even faster.

If I bought that at a local store they would be $179 plus 5.75% sales tax....
If I drove 38 miles to MicroCenter it would be $119 plus 7.75% Sales tax.....
If it weren't for Internet Tax loopholes in the US we would be paying about 10% more than you...lol
