Can somebody explain me why on all websites I look this card is so expensive? :
This Amazon link is just an example but even e-bay and other ones it's over 300$ for a gddr5 3gb only.

Because the 1060s have been superseded by the 16 series, specifically the 1650 Super which sits a hair above the 1060 6GB in performance, and the 1660 which is 15% faster.

You can find the 1650S for roughly 50-70 cheaper on Amazon alone, and the 1660 for the same price if not slightly cheaper at around the $300 mark. These are all Canuckistan prices.

Personally, I don't see the allure of the 1060 at this time, and especially not a Gigabyte model.

What you're finding are all the vendors that don't know how to move merchandise--they probably haven't ever dropped the price since they started selling the item. You'll run across the same thing for motherboards 3 generations old. I guess they just hope someone buys them by accident?

Thank you for the explanation. Anyway I just got it in exchange of a power supply.

As implied by others above, clueless sellers.

For Canada eBay is your best bet for older cards.

Lol I sold that exact card to @Toothless not long ago. Don't recall price, but I'm gonna say like 50 bucks tops?

Si I made a good deal. Paid the PSU 20$ last week. Added 10$ to the trade in xchange for that card.
That's the psu I exchanged for it :
Thermaltake Toughpower W0104RU 650W ATX12V EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Just like 6G HD7970s, R9290X 4Gs still being higher than msrp

Is it related to microchips market or the mining ?

Rarity. Miners won't touch those things anymore, if there are any left.

Old cards aren't made anymore, so demand (for whatever reason) exceeds supply.

I just dont understand why people would pay same price for old cards instead of buying new one

Ignorance mostly. "I want that card I had before because it worked good before I broke it / cat peed in computer / whatever"

And that is the correct answer.

1650 is superior to the 1060. 1660 and esp the 1660 Super and Ti are competitive to the much higher performing 1070.

There are lots of these kinds of high priced 2+ gen old stuff out there. I'm sure eventually someone accidentally or intentionally click on and purchases it, from either carelessness or ignorance.

whats the 1060 3gb equivalent to? gtx 970?

The same reason why people still fall for obvious brain-dead scams despite a zillion anti-scam warnings which have been around for years.

970 is faster than 3gb, slower than the 6gb model

^^THIS^^ I had all 3 of those cards, and thats exactly what I saw too, with the exception of top-tier/more recent games & other heavy duty stuff, the 6GB 1060 is a great for the average everyday user :)
