so my current rig is about 5.5 years old and i'm gonna get it replaced for christmas
i'm replacing the mobo, cpu and case. the rest will come from the parts from my old tower as they work fine
my question is after everything is built and working, will i need to wipe the os ssd and start fresh?
or can i just plug the old ssd in and be done with it? really not looking forward to reinstalling ALL my apps lol but will if i have to.
thanks!

To avoid issues its best to install fresh but you can try and see

You should, but i just swapped out my mobo (AM4) for a AM5 mobo without any issue's at all, i all so swapped out my other system Intel 2500K for the AM4 mobo without any issue's.

Both were running Win10.

How ever i did reinstall the OS on one of them ( intel to AM4 ) as it had a load of crap from before and will end up doing the AM5 system soon because a new system should have a fresh installed OS :).

Better to back up either way before doing any thing and make sure you have all the required drivers.
