Recently i been having alittle trouble getting my Windows 10 Pro to save how it opens my pictures on my computer, bcs i want to use Windows Photo Viewer instead of the new default photo application.

I notice that i got some "asian language" in the default for my picture files, anyone knows how i can get rid of that and when i select all and click save it doesn't really save this setting.

windows.10.set.program.associations.jpg

Scanned with KIS2016, Malwarebytes, Adwcleaner, HitmanPro, ESET Online Scanner

nuth major found other then some files i knew had some dirty in them.

Mine doesn't look like that

I like the old Photo Viewer from 8.1 and 7 more then the new one in Windows 10;)

Me too. if you double click it it enlarges. But I miss the scroll zoom. I don't know why they would remove that.

Control Panel -> Programs category -> Default Programs -> Set Default Programs

Look for Photo Viewer and click "Set this program as default"

Like so (example is for VLC because I'm not on my own system, I grabbed example image):
Win10Set.JPG

For some reason only this way actually sets the associations and no other way.

Already but it keeps forgetting it and the files if u look at the picture in my first post.

Also I found out that you cannot go to www.bing.com :D tried IE, Chrome, Edge, Opera.

Considering you have some weird Asian looking characters next to file associations, it seems like something is hijacking your image associations. Can you open files by hand via opening image editor and using the Open file command? I mean, it can also stink of ransomware. Maybe-ish...

Those Damn Chinese Picture Terrorists strike Again.......God Dammit!!! ;)

I have scanned with KIS2016 and Malwarebytes, so far they find nuth.

Edit scanned with Adwcleaner and HitMan Pro nuth major found, but it's removed.

Tried to create a new offline profile and than check if the description was back to normal, it was:

‌Win10.set.associations.for.a.program.jpg

But i still have the same problem can't get Windows to remember all the selected once, so might be a windows bug after TH2 update or smth.

Might want to look for some kind of hijack or malware. MS is not going to block its own search engine. I don't have any trouble gettubg the bing address in W10.

PC is clean as a whistle. I can go to whatever site just not bing.

Same for me lol all i get when clicking the link is Unable to connect and no i dont have viruses or malware.

Could it be a firefox issue as that is what i use and can't connect to bing but friends say it's working in google chrome and IE and Opera.

Very weird. There's got to be something else you've set somewhere. I just tried it again, and I got it.

I've half removed IE from programs and features so not tested with that yet but could it be part of the issue maybe or a firefox issue as that is what i use.

Also updated my other post with more info.

Right just got IE11 back up and running and bing still will not load so i clicked the connection issue button and it says some networking protocols are missing so that might be the problem lol.

It's just very strange how everything else works exactly how it should.

I'm guessing all these programs we use to block half the crap microsoft force on us has caused this issue? Maybe something in host files or in the registry.

@puma99dk| sorry for the off topic
