Hey guys, I booted my computer this morning, and I got a message (while still in the bios) that the computer needed to check my C: drive for inconsistancy (or something like that)...

And now I get error messages whenever a few of my startup programs start... The message says: "Winspool.drv is either not designed to run on Windows 7..." bla bla bla...

I've tried system restore, system repair (with the windows 7 dvd)... The only thing I haven't tried is reinstalling all of the concerned apps...

I'm pretty sure it has to do with my printer... Because yesterday I tried printing stuff with more advanced features of my printer and today is when the problems showed up... I've never managed to install the software that came with the printer on this version of windows... Works fine with Vista but not with Windows 7... So windows 7 just installed normal drivers for it I guess...

But now, I really don't know how to fix this issue...6 or 7 programs affected by this weird bug poppin error messages about winspool.drv (it says something about a "bad image" too...)

PLS HELP

Yeah it's the printer. Have you tried uninstall the printer completely, including any software? You did a system repair/restore but I don't know if that would take down the software.

Yeah, I tried uninstalling the printer in device manager, and like I mentionned before, there is no printer software on the computer because it doesn't work with windows 7...

But it seems like thie winspool.drv error has infected my whole system... I can't even start most of my games... Google chrome works and utorrent works...

Haven't tested much more of my programs... ARRRRRR!!! I'm freakin tired of having to reinstall FN windows 7... This will be the 3rd time... and for an insignificant stupid glitch caused by me when I tried printing something "with advanced features yesterday" holy mother of god...

And the error comes from whatever fixes or deletion windows did when it first scanned my c: drive this morning because I have an intuition that I should have cancelled that particular scan... but I pressed the key too late lolzzz

If anyone has ever had this problem, or if anyone can SAVE ME from having to Re-install Windows 7 today... I swear I will make you president! (If you see what I mean :O)

I have no idea what you're doing wrong, but I've only had to reinstall win7 once- and thats because I switched sockets and platforms.

I've never heard of that issue before, and some googlefu doesn't turn up anything.

msconfig and turn it off in there perhaps?

Well thx, but it doesn't show up in the msconfig (winspool.drv)... I've googled stuff about this problem... but nothing worked yet...
