So, I currently have Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit on my Sony Vaio laptop. I want to upgrade to Windows 7. My school offers the Windows 7 Pro upgrade disk in 64-bit for $20, which is a great deal. However, when i put the disk in, it said I couldn't upgrade to Pro, I would have to have the Home Premium or Ultimate upgrade disk, or I will just have to do a clean install. Is there any crack for this? I REALLY don't want to do a clean install, but I also don't want to spend another $100 to get Home Premium...

If there is a crack, you could still be missing important files and settings that are installed. Just do a clean install, if you dont format all of your files will be moved to a folder called Windows_OLD.

how could I do a clean install without formatting my hard drive that only has one partition?

You just select the partition to install over it i think. i could be confusing it with upgrade tho
