Windows HD Color Settings window causing color change

Not sure if this is the right thread, but Ive got some weird issue with windows hd color settings, where when I boot my computer the colors are all messed up and banding, when I open the windows hdr settings window, it temporarily brings colors back to normal, but then after a moment the colors are bad again, then I turn HDR on then off, and it fixes it until I reopen the hd settings window. Any ideas? This problem is very bad for me since I use photoshop a lot for digital art and color is the most important thing. This issue randomly popped up one day, and I have no clue what might be causing it, ive updated all drivers and checked every other color calibration setting on this computer, and the issue seems to originate from specifically the Windows HDR settings. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Just to rule this out, I know that if I have f.lux running and go into the Windows display settings, it "disables" f.lux for a second (which is quite a shock to the eyes sometimes ). Do you use f.lux? If you had it running, maybe something along these lines is happening.

I can't say anything about HDR settings though as I don't have an HDR monitor.

Also another related thing: do you use any color calibration software (such as DisplayCAL)?

Well, the first question members will want to know... What are your system specs?

1. In windows device manager are there any warning exclamations !
2. Have your tried reseating your graphics card, if you are using one. Also, cleaning/blowing out the slot is in.
3. Have you check the Display cable or tried another cable?
4. Have you run GPUz to see if all the info is good and complete?
5. Re-installed your drivers? Clean install, maybe?

Others might have more tips/help.

f.lux? doesnt sound familiar, I dont use any color calibration software, rather I cant because I dont have a calibration device which is required for those, except for the ones that come with windows which I already ruled out, its specifically the HDR settings WINDOW, as soon as I open it up after reboot it reverts the colors back to normal without doing anything, thank you for the reply!

I appreciate the response, I have tried all of the above, lol, except im not really sure what Im looking for in gpuz. This might be related to ReShade even though all reshade files have been deleted, i was on a reshade forum and they were pretty confident its not reshade since all the files are gone, but the bad colors seem to come from a reshade preset, because Ive seen my desktop alt tabbed with reshade on in game and it looked the same as it does now, same exact banding for greys and greys are washed in heavily saturated blue and green. How it could possibly be related I have no idea i did all the diagnostics for reshade issues. Its also very possible that reshade does in fact have nothing to do with it, but what I know for a fact is that the HDR window seems to directly affect this, which says to me that the problem is somewhere in system or something to do with control panel or a specific setting being reloaded when the settings window comes up, but after all im on tech forums so im pretty darn well lost, usually the internet or thinking is enough to get most problems fixed. but this one has got my brain tied in a knot
