Howdy all,

I have an interesting issue. So before i installed RC1 I was using Vista Ultimate 64 with Windows Media Player 11. I have a DVD player that is net-workable and will communicate via PnP and play media from my computer. With media player 11 I was able to share out a folder via the library option and everything was dandy.

When I upgraded to RC1 and had MP12, I re-shared the same folder and although it played via my DVD networked device, the picture quality went to absolute crap. It was pixilated all to hell and was pretty much unwatchable.

I had tested the video's themselves and they were fine so it leads me to believe that its the way that WMP12 re-encodes the videos as its transmitting.

Both devices are hardwired and running at full duplex 100Mbs. With that I am wondering if anyone knows the specifics on how video is transfered via WMP12 to other PnP devices and what codecs it uses by default to do so.

Also my other question is ... Are the PnP settings for WMP pretty simple? I have found other PnP software that my device detects but it wont play anything.

Anyone have any answers or other suggestions? Thank's for any information that you could provide.

Well, I just got done doing a fresh install of Windows 7 RC1 and the problem persists... I am going to mes around and see if I can find some options or plug-ins that deal with the rendering. Wish me luck!

Kuroikenshi,

Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 RC Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads there for a solution to your problem as well.
