I finally got to assemble my system today, The system POSTs just fine. When trying to install Windows Vista the system will load the setup but once its done it gets to this screen and just wont go any further. I have no idea what could be causing this. I have tried One RAM stick but still no luck? is there anything i need to change in the BIOS?

Heres the image where the setup freezes,

It could be a problem with the install disc itself. Try with another one.

I have installed it without a hitch on my old PC so its not that. It does it with both 32bit and 64bit discs.

Clear CMOS, make sure you dont try and install Vista with more than 2GB of memory at a time, things can get a little funky apprently (never experienced a hitch myself, but better safe than sorry!) and also try formatting the hard drive, could be something remaining thats making it botch up.

Well there's no way i can format my previous windows instillation, Unless i can do it within the BIOS.

I will keep trying with only 2GB memory

I will clear the CMOS in a second.

Well problem solved it didn't seem to like the mouse i had plugged in :D

It takes about 5min for to load each step in the windows setup? The disc drive will stop for about 5min then spin up and finally load? it does this for every step in the setup? very odd.

had the same problem, freezes and long installation including each step loading, in my case a bios update helped.

Well what do ya know...I had the same problem yesterday, and I thought it was my disc:ohwell: Now I'll have to try again...without a mouse it seems:p

Also you might want to give it a few minutes to load and see what happens, i really need to learn how to be patient lol

That, is very true. I gave it about 30 seconds and then decided that something must be wrong.

Ya it took about 10-20min for the setup to finally start
