I just bought the RNX-N150UBE(Rosewill RNX-N150UBE Wireless Adapter (1T1R) IEEE ...) for my old window xp sp3 machine and im having trouble connecting to my network. Even after i installed driver, the found new hardware wizard still poping up?

Everything show up fine on the Rosewill Wireless Land Utility after i put in wpa/wpa 2 key, but for some reason xp wireless network connection is stuck at the yellow exclamation mark(status: limited or no connectivity)

My linksys pci wireless g worked fine but not this adapter, any idea?

Router Config:
Encryption: TKIP/AES
Authentication: WPA/WPA2
Wireless mode: G/N mixed

if you're running wifi N, you have to use AES, not TKIP. TKIP breaks wifi N.

other than that, you may be having driver issues. go find the latest drivers for it, and make sure they install properly.

it is not compatible with windows xp according to the newegg site.
not saying you can't fudge it, but to be sure test it out on a vista or windows 7 machine to be sure.

for clarification, tkip doesn't break wireless n. meaning, it wont break the connection which seems to be happening to this chap. tkip will simply downgrade the wireless n connection to wireless g speeds.

the newegg site does say its XP compatible in its name, actually.

under system requirements is where it doesnt mention XP.

the rosewill page here does have an all in one driver that includes XP

i'm starting to ponder if he disabled some needed services, like the XP wireless zero config service or something. its odd, but i see people blindly following tweak guides online and doing that sometimes.

Yeah wont break it (I did switch to AES jumbo packets etc), I got a rosewill POS adapter (3 antenna) and it "connects" at 100 something Mbps it transfers at 1 MB/s though

Rosewill is crap its all crap from top to bottom . Dont buy it. Newegg went and bought stuff from some OEM and slapped there name on it and charges 4 times more than its worth. (except when it is on special) Rosewill psus are coffee cans, their wireless adapters are bunk and the desktop suites they sell for $30 cost $7 if you order from china and thats ordering one unit not 1000. (exact same parts without rosewill branding)

TKIP forces it to 54Mb, which is what i meant by breaks it - it forces you to connect at G speeds.

sounds like he's got some kind of software/OS problem more than anything else, the icon he mentioned means he's not getting an IP address for some reason.

ha, it does say in the title but not in the description. highly unusual. if this person has not solved their problem yet i would recommend forcing g mode only and using aes.
