Would this be able to control this or a Scythe Ultra Kaze without burning up? I can't seem to figure out what that molex-looking connector on the Delta is.

PS - Does the Fan Mate allow me to completely turn off the fan? I'm only looking to control one fan (a high static pressure fan for the Corsair H50 rad) so I don't really want an actual drive bay multi fan controller. Anybody have any better suggestions?

I've been using my Zalman Fan Mate 2 (came with an ooold 7700alcu years ago) with my 120x38mm Scythe Ultra Kaze 3k RPM fan for about 14 months w/o issue. I usually run between 1700-2100 rpm. I had an extra spot for an MB standoff in my case for larger mb's, so that's where I mounted it, turned out pretty nice overall, works great. The FM2 does get pretty warm, but it's worked fine for me thus far.

Gotta bump this up! Really need to know if a fanmate will be able to tame a Delta FFB fan!

Well iirc the FM2 is capable of 7-8W load, so what you need to do is find the consumption specs of that fan. Now for some simple math, the Scythe Ultra Kaze 3K 120x38mm is rated at 0.60A. All you gotta do is, A * 12 = W. So if I run the Ultra Kaze at full speed, it'd be @ 7.2W load.

And well, the FFB is rated at 2.0A, so 24W load would be pushing too hard on the FM2 imo...even at reduced speeds it'd be too much...dunno what kind of noise levels your after, but the Ultra Kaze's a good all arounder, can crank it up for serious cfm's or down in the range I run for good cfm and very acceptable noise levels.

Also, to answer your PS, no the FM2 does not allow turning the fan off...unless you unplug it..wouldn't really see a point to needing to do that though tbh. TBH I think the Ultra Kaze 3K + FM2 will be a good combo for that HC50...it's done an excellent job on my S1283 for a loooong time without any issues.
