a few days ago I bought an 8gb DDR3 ram memory for my laptop but my laptop doesn't detect it because it needed to be DDR3L and I didn't know this until after 2 hours seeing what was happening I found out and watching some videos on youtube I discovered that there is a way to make my laptop read the DDR3 and interpret it as DDR3L and this is done by changing bit number 6 which is 00 to 02 but the app that is supposed to be used for this gives me an error and doesn't let me called SPD TOOL what I want to know is if there is an app or program that allows me to write, read and save the changes made to the EEPROM so that my ram memory can work in this way

I am not certain the system will work, even after you make that change.

The "L" in DDR3L stands for "low voltage". DDR3L is designed to operate with a voltage of 1.35V. Standard DDR3 requires 1.5V to operate. That may not sound like a significant difference, but that is a 10% difference and is significant.

Even if you can modify the BIOS to see or "recognize" standard DDR3, that does not mean the motherboard will supply the higher voltage the DDR3 needs to provide stable operation.

I have seen DDR3L RAM work in a DDR3 platform, but not the other way around.

If me, I would hesitate spending any money trying to modify (and potentially bricking) this motherboard. Instead, I would try to hunt down compatible DDR3L RAM.

Good luck and keep us posted.
