Xfx 8600 Gts 512

Hi all. I have the above mentioned graphics card.
Factory settings :
GPU Clock 675
Mem Clock 1000
Shader clock 1450

Overclocked:
GPU Clock 775
Mem Clock 1150
Shader clock 1800

Processor E6420, 2GB RAM, Win7 Ultimate 64bit
Games tested COD 2 Modern Warfare (everything on high, but on ultra slows down) 70 degrees C max
Tropico 3 (again, everything on high not on highest) 80 degrees C max

Now my problem is, I haven't found such high figures.
(1) Am I risking blowing my shit up
(2) Is this praise to Win7 and not windows Shitsa (Vista)?
(3) Or am I the cheap brotha man with the OCing plan
(4) Are these stats only impressive to new OCing me.

1. i dont think your risking anything, just keep ur temps lower then 75 ish. (lower the better ) i would say 80 is starting to push it.

Check your temps.
Run Fur bench. Check if there's any yellow spot artifacting.
If not, you're fine.
I've been searching for a screenshot of my 8600GTS oc.... but I can't find it!
I had one in 2007 but it was only 256MB memory.

Well, if you can finish furmark, it means you passed. Congrats! How's the temp after furmark? If it is high 70s then I think it is time to listen to Slyfox and reduce your oc. Otherwise, fine.

run furmark for about 20 minutes, that will give you an idea of how hot the GPU will get under very very high stress(it won't reach that in gaming though), if the GPU dosen't freeze or start giving artifacts then your set, that 60 second test won't show max temp.

don't use xtreme burning mode though
