Hello,
I bought a 2nd hand XFX RX 580 8GB GTS XXX edition. (Everything was perfect for almost 2 years, until video card get in shorted because a damaged stabilizer). This is the exact model:

I'm not sure if both BIOS are failing after video card was in short (some mosfets was replaced). But, now the video card is acting weird. First time, after reviving, I couldn't install drivers in the performance mode (bios). Then, I switched to Quiet mode and everything was good... but just for few days, I got a black screen even If I'm not playing. So I switched to Performance mode and was good only for few days.

I'm suspecting about a wrong Bios. Why?

I was looking for memories and I realized this:
- All of memories are Hynix, but GPUZ says Samsung and Hynix.
- Sticker shows 1386 Mhz, while GPUZ says 1366 Mhz (performance mode):

So, I have few questions:
- I'm not sure what BIOS file is the correct one for each BIOS (dual). Can you help me to find them?
- I have to install 2 bios, right?
- I donno how stable is video card in windows right now (black screen are random). Can I flash the bios by other method?

Thank you very much for your support. I hope your can help me to fix it.

Something has been lost in translation here. Are you saying that there was an electrical short resulting in sparks and smoke?

Well, your model was equipped with 3 types of memory chips.
Your BIOS (in this case) is made for 2 of them.
Yes you do have Hynix but the same BIOS was used for the same card but when it was equipped with Samsung.
So because of that don't be worry.
Ok, let's get further.
If your card act weird, that is caused in some cases by a wrong BIOS or the worst case it is a hardware fault.
Let's presume you have a wrong BIOS in your card.
After you flash the new BIOS in it and it will do the same simptoms then for sure you have to go with the card to a repair shop to check it.
1366 is the top frequency but there is always a boost to a max at 1386.
So the BIOS start at max of 1366 but in case of need it can boost up to 1386.
There is nothing wrong here either.
Try this one for performance BIOS :

No smoke, no sparks. PC shuted down, then won't boot. I tried with another video card and everything was ok.

Ok, I got you.

I'll try what you say. In case it works, do I have to flash the 2nd bios with another BIOS right?

Can you tell me which one?

Thank you for your help and sorry for my english, guys. :)

You've confirmed the fault is with the graphics card then, and since you had to replace MOSFETs, it's likely that other components are damaged and have failed.

It depends how much your time is worth but clearly the GPU has been partially-repaired from a previous failure and there's no easy way to know what else needs repairing. It's certainly well beyond my experience!

Yes, it is possible. That's why I want to try with the bios first. If that wont work, I'll let you know, guys.

Thank you...

You can flash on your card that BIOS in any position of the switch.
Even you flash an OC BIOS in the silent position won't damage your card.
The ideea is to have a fully functional card then we will identify the silent bios also and we will flash them in the correct position.
1st things 1st, we will flash the BIOS in it and if it works we proceed with the silent one
