Hi all,

I had this card given to me after the original owner (my brother-in-law) had a similar issue as a number of others, updated drivers/bios, had gfx errors & now won't post & monitor reading No Display.

After testing in my own rig & another I'm currently putting together, I saw exactly the same result each time. Both rigs are more than capable of running this card.

After doing some reading, I came across many posts about very similar issues.
I have since tried: switching between the bios's, flashing a new bios (atiflash 2.93, only attempted in windows/cmd line while in windows, it didnt even register there was a card there!).

When powered up, there is a steady blue led, whichi am assuming means power is good.

After reading some posts here, I thought I should probably strip the card down and post pics along with this post. When I removed the backplate, I noticed some dust spots (from the holes in the plate) which was unsurprising, however, there were some darker spots, kinda like the were wet/damp. Upon removing the heatsink/fans, I discovered actual liquid (not sure exactly what tbh)

I swabbed as much as I could with a cotton bud, but haven't gone any further as yet (it was getting late)

The Culprit: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/xfx-rs-rx-570-xxx.b4485

Main Rig:
Mb- gigabyte b550 aorus elite v2
Cpu: Ryzen 7 5600x
Mem: corsair ddr4 3200 cl16
Pwr: 700w (can't remember make/model atm as its in a concealed compartment)
Ssd- kind of irrelevant with current issue, however: 2x 1tb gigabyte sod's
Gfx: Nvidia GTX 1660 & nvidia gtx 1050 (1050 is used mainly as emergency gfx & for phys-x)

Will post pics in a reply (have to change the format apparently)

Can anyone suggest how to fix? Or tell me if it not possible?

Thanks in advance.

Pic 1: under the backing plate
Pic 2 & 3: the "wet" chips (the green insulating pad which is on fan/heatsink was sitting on the wet chips)

That wetness is probably silicon oil from the cooling pad, so non-conductive.
From the second picture I see you've got Samsung memory for your 4GB RX 570. The only verified BIOS from TPU is not for Samsung memory, but Elpida or Hynix. Did you flash the card with the right BIOS?

Apologies, I linked the incorrect card, it's the 8gb version

I attempted to flash the bios in windows & cmd line (while still in windows & run as admin), however all failed as it didn't detect the card at all, so I haven't actually flashed it yet.

This is the choice of bios I had to dl:

I picked the top one: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/208633/xfx-rx570-8192-171129

But like i said, it failed anyway as it didnt register the card was even there. Same result when I tried to save the current bios.

I presume it says Samsung .....FB (end characters) on the chips.
Maybe the card is just broken, you chose the right BIOS if there are FB chips on it. If you are going to flash it, flash it in a pre-boot environment, basically booting off a DVD/USB; Hiren's Boot DVD or Sergei Strelec or similar come to mind. It ensures there is no interference from the operating system and you'll see if the card is detected there by the flash program, otherwise it's dead...

Hello
As @pavle said earlier we are not sure what exact code you have on that Samsung memory chips.
Please make another picture using macro and a good light source.
On the other hand it would be nice to have a picture from the labels from the card (on the backplate)

Here is a pic of both

I believe this VBIOS will be compatible. The core clock is a tad higher than your card is, according to the TPU database, so be careful pushing it too hard. You should be able to fix that with Afterburner.
