hi people,
can somebody show me a difference between:

XFX Geforce 8600 GT 512Mb 540MHz Core DDR2 (PV-T84J-YAJG, PV-T84J-YAJ7) And,
MSI Geforce 8600 GT 512Mb 580Mhz Core GDDR3 (NX8600GT-T2D256E-OC)

Pros, Cons and the importance of DDR2 and GDDR3 memory (What means the "G" of Gddr3")
differences between 256mb and 512mb of memory, it´s that so relevant?

Thank´s to everyone!:respect:

There is a large performance difference between G (for Graphics)DDR2 and GDDR3 Memory. The difference in the size of memory's main concern is what resolution you use on your monitor, and in some cases whether or not you like to you anti-aliasing and/or anistropic filtering in your games. Have you looked at any other cards besides those two?

well the 9600GT will directly replace the 8600GT cos its now EOL (end of line)
a 3850 will tear the ass from a 8600GT for only a little more
and the 8800GS is around and good value for money too, here (aus) theyre the same price as a 8600GTS and again, itll tear the ass out of it.

basically i would say for a budget card you want to look at

9600GT - 8800GS - HD3850 512
