Xiggy s1283 thermal paste

Thanks wiley i will pick some mx3 and try my tube of as5 is empty is mx2 hard to remove?

the reason ask is i will be switching around alot, cold is coming time to get on some Tpu Threds:D

Nope. It's actually easier to clean than AS5, iirc.

Newegg doesn't have mx3 :(

I have the same cooler.I didnt put the supplied paste.I NEVER do.
I just put some AS5 and it works great. Its as simple as that.
Do that.

THe thing that sucks about AS5 is the cure time. 200 hours with heat cycling. Heat cycling is where you run your rig for a few hours to get it nice and hot, then leave it off for several hours so it cools down to ambient temp.
To cure AS5 properly could take as long as 2 weeks. Thats why a lot of the other TIMs are better. ICD7 requires less than 2 hours, OCZ freeze doesn't require any IIRC.

IC Diamond 7. MX-2.OCZ Freeze

Whats the difference between that and the other bracket? I still don't understand how it rotates it :( Also, mx-3 > mx-2, by far, right?

The main reason I want the rotation is so the heat from the heatsink will blow out the rear, correct?

yes it helps in small and filled up cases also helps so that you are not drawing hot air from the graphics card. you have to be the judge at what temps you are happy with :toast:

Hmm. I will have to run without the side of the case, so would that make a noticeable difference for me?

It sure did for me. If you need any other advice on cooler rotation let me know. Why no side of case? Cooler too tall?
