so... ive got a cd key here (that i legally own.) but i dont know what version of xp pro its for, retail oem or corp. any easy way to tell?

Contact microsoft about the problem. Tell them your original CD-key and ask them if it's been validated before or not.

If you paid retail prices for it, it's retail. A corp. copy would cost you a ton.

if i remembered what i paid for it i wouldnt be asking... considering where i work its just as likely to be any one of the 3. i hate calling M$ support. end up sitting on hold for hours an getting transfered umpteen million times.

Corporate keys usually contain the letters VPK in the last set of digits/letters.

i may have a method, check pm
