Hey - I just realized that your filename is "vgasys_fo" which I have never seen (NOT vga.sys, I must have needed coffee earlier today when I first read your thread)...

EDITING: I also just searched my disks for that file, or part of its name, & it does NOT exist here...

Apparently, you DO need this file... the fact you omitted it during installation & you having problems now? Does tend to make ME @ least think "Aha: So, '2+2 does = 4'" type of stuff... bit TOO coincidental!

The filename you wrote above has me 'stumped' though...

See, I seem to DIMLY recall seeing files of that name (you SURE that's the filename you omitted?), but they usually were .fon files!

(Font, but since this is an INSTALLATION, it is probably LZ-Compressed (lempel ziv, MS uses this a lot))

Thus, the name being 'truncated' as that file compression is wont to do!

* I think it's vgasys.fon, but can you 'double-check' that filename for us?

(Thanks!)

it may have been

it may have been .fon...but my sys during instal said that it could not find the file vgasys.fo......i searched the disk and couldn't find it either....system booted fine but wouldn't change rezolutions...so i installed the vgasys file from xp pro...seems to work fine now....no problems yet....but....no...i did not purposefully decide to omit it

That's HILARIOUS...

You mean it turned up that I was onto the right file for you to use, anyhow?

I say that, because now you're running correctly apparently, & yet the filename's are NOT "correct", matching the vga.sys driver name (vs. the "vgasys_fo" filename you mentioned initially)...

:)

* That has to be THE luckiest fix I have ever been a part of... because I was almost certain that I had the wrong filename for you.
