I want to improve performance over my old school prescott. The question is, will my mobo support a Pentium D or maybe if I'm lucky, an Allendale? I have a MSI MS-7254, which is very similar to the MSI RC410M-L. If you go to MSI's website (or ati's), They both state that this motherboard has support for Pentium 4 and Celeron D. Will it support all pentium d's, some, or none. Also, (this is wishful thinking I think), Will this support C2D allendales? Thx for the help. This really is a good budget mobo with my pc (it supports higher-end stuff such as 2.2v ram, etc.), But if I need to change my mobo, I will probably just buy a new pc. Any thoughts or answers are appreciated!

update, I noticed that the Pentium D requires a slightly higher voltage than the celeron D, and also has alot more cache. Are these reasons why the mobo might not support the Pentium D? If so, then cold I perhaps run an allendale, since they only use about the same voltage as a celeron d

Atcually never mind, I just found the answer to my own question, the Celeron D isn't really a dual core. Ahhhh, thats why it won't support Pentium D's, because the mobo doesn't support dual core at all. Thx anyway
