I recently did a RMA on my Sapphire R9 270X VaporX OC. I changed the paste and blew out all the dust and told them and they ACTUALLY appreciated it in spite of it not fixing the problem. In return, I got a Sapphire R9 270X Toxic OC which I am running at present. So your point might be valid in most cases. Maybe it was me who just got lucky. I suggested the OP as Sapphire and Zotac are both subsidiaries of PC Partner and I had a good experience with them. :)

PC partner was only Involved with Sapphire's Rare Motherboards.

Hi
No softwares for editing that bios at this time; download and use Nvidia Inspector v1.9.7.8
Step 1
Unzip software and run
Step 2
Select: Show Overclocking
Step 3
Navigate to dropdown menu as below:
Nvidia Insector.jpg
Change Performance level (3) - (P0) to Performance Level (2) - (P2)
Step 4
From Memory Clock Slider select -20 five times will reduce 5100 MHz to 5000 MHz
Step 5
Apply Clocks and Voltage
Step 6
Create Clocks *Shortcut and [always *run this before gaming]

Either RMA this card or buy a new one as it is damaged.

You started another thread which is the same exact problem which is against forum rules.

The card is still being used as of the moment of replying to this thread. I can still use the card, I just want it to run on a maximum speed of 10000mhz as I have proven it to be stable on all occasion as of the moment. so editing the bios file would be very helpful to me.

Thank you and hope somebody who had the same situation as i have would share on how he/she has overcome the problem

yes i use msi afterburner but would like it to be a permanent fix I would be putting this card to my sons computer and he doesnt want any complexities just plug it and play it. so a bios editor or a bios file with memory locked at 10000mhz is the permanent solution I think.

1080 bios are not modifiable.

Set up msi afterburner on his computer and lock it so he can't open the program without a password but it will run in background to set desired clocks.

So you know a card that has your problem will degrade and degrade, so typically it's best to RMA or throw it in the recycling bin.

Good news.... Just dont be a broccoliAndTunaPasta and wait 2 years for them to send you a replacement card. If youre not on it and riding them hard to send you out a replacement then they might take their sweet time dealing with your RMA. Try and get a status report every 2 weeks if you can. It shows that youre on point and keen to get the card back. RMA to manufacturer should take no longer than two weeks to a month at the most or three months under extreme circumstances.

If they dont have a 1080Ti to send you then they need to offer you something else of equal performance. which would be 2080 though they could send you out a 2070 as well if they wanted to be assholes. as the 2070 isnt far off in terms of performance. Failing that they will send you a cheque for the street value of that 1080Ti if they have nothing to give you so you can go out and buy another graphics card.
