Zotac's GeForce RTX 4070 AMP Airo comes with mesmerizing RGB lighting and a factory overclock. Thermal performance of this triple-slot, triple-fan card is excellent, and energy efficiency is among the best we've ever seen, which is the foundation for the card's impressive noise levels.

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
I also laughed at the new award :)

It's a nice card, but it's exactly twice the price of AMD's 12GB offering, and it's nowhere near twice as fast; 100% more money for 40% more performance is horrible, however you try to spin it.

You also get that cut-down 192-bit bus that won't scale as well as a 320-bit 3080 or 256-bit 6800XT as the card gets pushed harder....

I think the main selling points are it's new, RT, DLSS3, and efficiency. It also has decent price/performance vs current gen offerings...... I still think its about 100 usd too expensive but hopefully being able to get a 7900XT for around 700 usd puts some pressure on it.

Also AMD cards are cheap because they are much less desirable pretty sure AMD would love the 6700XT to still be selling at 500 usd where it was terrible from a pricing perspective. Lots of people payed 850 usd + for it during the boom as it is lol.

AMD cards should probably undercut equivalent raster-performing Nvidia cards in price by 20% since they don't have feature parity.

Even taking that into account, Nvidia cards are still overpriced. I guess that's why the 40-series is the worst-selling generation in Nvidia's entire history as a company.

For that price not having 16 gigs of VRAM is embarrassing.

I wonder if gamers will even care about this generation being priced so poorly if the AI bubble pops and that leads to 50 or 60 series being priced better. So far only AMDs pricing has took a major hit from their somewhat unrealistic MSRPs especially the 7900XT which can be had almost 200 usd cheaper than launch. Part of me thinks the massive cost increase in silicon going forward won't allow major performance increases with lesser pricing but I would love to be wrong.

3n vs 4n will be a much smaller jump than Samsung 8 vs this generations 4n although the cost increase also shouldn't be as substantial. Nvidia has its work cut out to give us similar gains in power/performance without increase cost substantially.

I think AMD should be the happiest about Nvidia pricing it means they can still somewhat over charge while looking a lot less bad lol.

For that price not having 16 gigs of VRAM is embarrassing.

Hilarious there are still thermal pads applied on the missing mem chip. Not the first time.

And there are some power phases or controllers left completely uncovered waiting to blow up eventually just like MSI ventus.

4070 is the only safe bet for now if it maintains 30% yearly depreciation.
next gen I suppose, 5060 128 bit GDDR7 16GB 6144 Cuda cores as fast as 4070, RTX 4060 Ti 8 price wise.

that mosfet on the bottom right of the gpu die is one of the two vram phases, and the load of vram phases is much lower than the load of vcore phases.
we used to see a similar practice on rtx3000 series cards like rtx3080 from gigabyte and evga, they seem fine though.
w1zzard should have designed a careless award as well.

zotac is definitely not saving money on thermal pads, as they also put thermal pads for those minor rails like those L2R2's converters.

The really expensive 4070s aren't really justified by anything.
(For some reason I have a 4070 and a 4070 Ti here.)
