i think the AIB partners allow reviewes to have them for retesting and prizes, but if them come from higher up aka amd or nvidia, they might have to send them away, due to shortage of review samples or something

this time amd is rotating the cards between reviewers, first time for me to hear something like that for an nda review. some smaller aibs do it with most of their after-launch samples to keep cost down. but it also depends on what kind of "deal" you have with them and how well you know people and if you can justify why you need to keep the card.

Smaller reviewer probably have time limits with hardware, not only that but probably get their samples latter...
So W1izzard is allowed to keep most of the hardware??

Below is what is said about 5870's AF when compared to nvidia. It looks like that 5870 offers complete angle independent AF(at 16x). However, as with any information before release wait for the official review.

If we want a good apples-to-apples comparison to the HD5870, he'd need to have a Chrome 540GTX! That 75MHz speed bump compared to the 440 GTX should do wonders in the overall performance.

Good to know they are improving, but that's absolutely meaningless for us methinks. Take a look at this:

Eastcoast why in the hell do the shadows in BF2 suck on ATI cards and look great on Nvida cards? I've seen it on both and the Nvidia clearly renders them differently. Any ideas?
