Need VGA cooling for 5850 advice please.

I was looking at this but I keep reading mixed reviews on it.

Anyone have a good cooler for a 5xxx series they would recommend?
I'd greatly appreciate it, no links to sidewinder computers please.

Can you fit a spitfire in your case? It loads the GPU in furmark in less than 50C, though u need a VRM sink too

It's a full tower case, so I sure hope so.
The more cooling the merrier. I'll get VRM sink as well then if this is the best one I find. Looks good though tyvm.
EDIT: wow that thing is huge, guess I could put the 5850 in the bottom pcie-x slot, maybe move things around a bit.
Where can I get the spitfire from anyway? I'll keep looking for it but it looks very nice and has some good stats along with it for cooling.

You can use stock cooler base for VRM/memory cooling, if it's reference card. The cooler will hit the end part of it though, needs a bit of hole done on the fins.

VF1000 fits with stock cooler bottom and looks good (although zalman is not the cheapest)

Easiest choice is VF3000, comes with everything you need to cool the reference card.

The VF1000 is very nice, unfortunately it only has one fan. Good for CPU but I'd be worried about the VRMs.

Once you get that done, sell it to me cheap Well I'd be happy to get a stock cooling 5850 first, but no-one sells them used and there are no deals anywhere for them, not to mention stock for cheaper ones

The moment you said that I remembered why. The GPU on the 5850 sits closer to the DVI than the 5870 and I had totally forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding me OnBoard.

I have the VF1000 and it rocks!! As for the VRM's, I went and bought some http://www.zalman.com/ENG/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=136 for the extra memory not covered along with VRM's.
