[FT] x2 nVidia GeForce GTX 275 1792MB GPU's

I want to trade both my MSI GeForce GTX 275 1792MB Lightning Video Card and my EVGA GeForce GTX 275 1792MB Video Card, which I flashed the BIOS off to match with the MSI N275GTX, plus $100 USD including free shipping and a 2-Way SLI Bridge for a single GTX 480 Video Card.

I just want to be able to play GTA IV with reasonable FPS and not have it drop to as low as 18FPS in some parts of Liberty City. I get an average of 30-35FPS all around in the game, but I just hate it when it drops down to 18FPS in some areas. If you play GTA IV then you would know what I'm talking about.

I can play every latest game, including Fallout New Vegas with max visual settings at 1920x1200 resolution with excellent FPS, except for my favorite game, GTA IV.

I'm also not willing to trade for anything else. If the extra $100 USD is still too steep, then please make me an offer and I'll try and consider it. But seeing that a used GTX 275 now goes for around $130-$150 USD on eBay, an extra $100 USD for a used single GTX 480 should be reasonable, right?

My own friend who just bought a GTX 480 and doesn't even game on his system wouldn't do the exact same trade, except I offered him $200 CAD extra because it was brand new, but still wouldn't trade with me :confused:

So I thought I'd give it a shot on here and if I'm not able to, then it's all good with me. It doesn't hurt to try.

Don't got Heatware, but you can check out my eBay account feedback here. Not much though, I've never had the opportunity to do business where I needed Heatware feedback, but I can always start one!

hmmm are you sure sli is working correctly m8?? i have a single GTX280 and with the setting almost all max on 1920X1080 i get 35/40fps 25fps at the absolute lowest drops. i would try flashing the evga card back to normal and doing a fresh driver instal. those 2 cards should do better than that. sorry not trying to derail/thread crap but it got me puzzled is all

But if I flash the EVGA BIOS back to normal, wouldn't it make my MSI run at the same clocks as the EVGA?

Anyways, then how am I able to play Fallout New Vegas with all visual at max and get 60-65FPS consistantly? I only have this issue with GTA IV.

But will try what you've suggested anyhow and update.

EDIT: I just flashed my EVGA BIOS to its original settings, uninstalled all nVidia drivers, rebooted into Safe Mode, used Driver Cleaner Pro to get rid of any remnants of the drivers, ran Driver Sweeper twice before rebooting, reinstalled all nVidia drivers (WHQL GeForce v260.99 & nForce v15.53), defragged my HDD, and nothing changed when I tried to play GTA IV. It still drops down to 18FPS in some areas.

sadly upgrading the gpu won't do anything for GTA IV
its a poorly ported game and runs like crap even on the best systems

I repeat the issue is NOT with the hardware its with the game its self and there is NO fix for it other then installing all the latest patches

You should drop an offer to kid41212003. He has a 480 he is looking to downgrade, and although I am not sure if he is looking to run duals, he did shoot me a number for a proposed GTX275+$$$->GTX 480 trade.

The Twin Frozr is a GREAT looking card

I know a guy on the GTA Forums who has 2 GTX 480's in SLI and is getting +60FPS consistantly in GTA IV. But he also has a an i7 CPU. I don't mind if I get +30FPS consistantly in the game with one GTX 480, just as long as it doesn't go below 30FPS.
